PARLER PARLAY — ROUND 1: JESUS NIECE

"Parler Parlay" is a series intended to intertwine the art of conversation and the wit of game play. In this inaugural edition I introduce DJ Jesus Niece over an age old game of 21 Questions.

I met 'Vena aka DJ Jesus Niece through a mutual friend of ours during my freshman year of college. I remember our first encounter quite vividly and what imbedded her into my mind (and what I find most special) is her incomparable demeanor coupled with her natural assertion in her own presence. Over 5 years later from our initial introduction, and a few late Atlanta nights in-between, my camera and I were warmly welcomed into her home and made accomplice to a quick evening stroll along the beltline last summer.

*For additional context, this question was asked towards the end of our trek. We came to a crossing and met a woman and her 2 puppies so of course we greeted them...the puppies that is...Thus prompting the question and the most reasonable answer. On with the interview...

Artist's Note: The image with the TV in the background is easily one of my favorite's among the set. It's a bit hard to see who's on the screen and I like that the most as it's rightfully inferred to be some extremely ratchet tv. The contrast between the diligent care for her plant babies and the sound of Jocelyn's Caberet (or something along the sort) in the background is clear evidence of JN's depth and multiplicity.

One that most women can find a reflection in.
